In March 2000, the production of the Yamaha YBR 125 began, responding to the demand of the Brazilian domestic market since more than 50% of motorcycle sales were of low displacement. The need for the company to modernize and build 4-stroke engines for this type of motorcycle take into account. The Yamaha YBR 125 create an aesthetic, modern and detailed motorcycle, low cost and very reliable at the highest performance. This motorcycle was so successful that soon, Yamaha Motor do Brasil doubled its production and began exporting it to all of America, where all its buyers could enjoy its excellent manoeuvrability and low maintenance cost.

Two years later, in November 2002, after the experience gained by Yamaha in Brazil. The Chongquing Jianshe-Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. of China began producing the new Yamaha YBR 125 adapted to the Asian market and had at such a low cost that its export to Europe was very profitable. Therefore, the model was sold in Spain and, as of 2008, is sold in Argentina (produced locally in 2007), stopping imports from Brazil. It is a very light motorcycle with excellent comfort and availability when it comes to use.

Main Features of the Engine

• Using a single balancer shaft controls non-harmonic vibrations in the engine and provides long-distance driving comfort (except on some models).
• It incorporates an automatic timing chain tensioner to ensure improved timing chain stability, strength, and corresponding adjustment for the pneumatic valve.
• It uses a large muffler from larger displacement vehicles for total efficiency and low noise.
• It uses a CDI electronic ignition system that ensures safe ignition and improves engine performance.
• Starter usage. It uses a small, lightweight, highly efficient starter motor to start the engine quickly.

Brazil

These are the models sold in Brazil. All of them have chassis similar to the YS 250.

” Factor YBR 125 K ” or kick start with lever start and drum brakes. The rims have spokes.

” Factor YBR 125 E ” or electronic with electronic starter and drum brakes. The rims have spokes.

” Factor YBR 125ED ” or electronic with electronic starter and front hydraulic disc brake. The wheels are alloy.

The capacity of the tank is 13 liters. The weight of the “K” and “E” versions is 110 kg, and the “ED” version weighs 112 kg (empty). All Brazilian models come from the factory with Metzeler ME 22 tyres of good quality.

Argentina

” YBR 125 E ” o Electronic with electronic starter, lever starter and drum brakes. The rims have spokes.

” YBR 125 ED ” or Electronic Deluxe with an electronic start, lever start and front hydraulic disc brake. The wheels are alloy.

” YBR 125 R “, which is the same “ED” version motorcycle (since 2012) but with spoked rims and front drum brake.

As you can see, unlike the Factor YBR 125 ED from Brazil, the YBR 125 ED from Argentina does have the “kick”. The Argentine YBRs come from the factory with Sakura tires of poor quality, although they are not an integral part of the bike. The empty weight is 104 kg.

In 2007, its production was national: the company inaugurated October 11, 2007, its first plant in the town of Ituzaingó, where it began to assemble the first units of this model.

Chile

In Chile, there is only one model, called ” YBR-125E “. It is the same “125 ED” from Argentina in its 2010 and 2011 versions, which has a front disc brake, even though part of its name is “E” and not “ED”. So it has a kick start, in addition to the electric one, and its wheels are alloy.

Peru

The wheels are alloy. The seat height is considerable, 795 mm. from the ground. It weighs 117 kilograms. The SS has a throttle position sensor (TPS). It is perhaps the most potent YBR of all.

The ” YBR 125 dx “, similar to the “YBR 125 SS”, is a model with fairing, electronic starter, lever starter and hydraulic front disc brake. The rims are spoked. The seat height is considerable, 795 mm. from the ground. It weighs 117 kilograms. The dx is a 2008 model before the SS has a throttle position sensor (TPS). It is perhaps the most potent YBR of all.

Mexico

The ” YBR 125E “. It is similar to the Argentine “YBR 125E”, with drum brakes, kick start, electric start and spoked wheels.

The ” YBR 125C Express “. It is a cargo model, with a wide grille and a seat for one person. It has drum brakes, kick start, electric start and spoked wheels. The fuel tank reserve is 3 liters.

Philippines
